NEWS: Denon's first Blu-ray player to go on sale this Oct Jul 2007Denon has confirmed its commitment to Blu-ray by unveiling details of its first Blu-ray player, the $2300 (approx) DVD-3800 BDCI. The DVD-3800 is said to be the world's first high-definition disc player to use the 10-bit Silicon Optix Realta HQV video processor, and one of the first to incorporate a BD-ROM version 1.1 disc drive. The player will have high-definition audio decoding, capable of handling Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks. It has DDSC-HD audio output, and is capable of outputting 7.1 analogue signals and PCM via HDMI. Other features include an SD card slot for downloading web content, although there's no Ethernet connection, so users will have to use a PC to transfer web content to SD. |

| REL's new T Line of subwoofers consist of three subs are all dual-cone units with an active downward facing driver and a front-facing passive radiator. Powered, of course, and with the characteristic REL input and filtering arrangements that do not require an electronic crossover or any other insertions in the signal path of the main speakers. The picture shows the biggest of the three, all of which share the same technology, modern design and quality of parts and finish not generally seen at these prices. |
